Soft Tissue Therapy
Soft Tissue Therapy & Sports Massage In Jersey...
More Than "Just a Massage" – Soft Tissue Therapy and Sports Massage are advanced treatments designed to assess, treat, and rehabilitate minor injuries and pain. These therapies combine hands-on techniques with clinical reasoning to improve your physical health and performance.
What is Soft Tissue Therapy?
Soft Tissue Therapy is a specialised form of sports massage, focusing on the rehabilitation and recovery of soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia). Through expert assessment and treatment, it aims to relieve pain, reduce stiffness, and speed up recovery from injuries, whilst also being suitable as a preventative and maintenance treatment. Move better, feel better!

What Does Soft Tissue Therapy & Sports Massage Involve?
Soft Tissue Therapy and Sports Massage is a personalised and hands-on treatment approach, that addresses muscle tension, injury recovery, and overall physical performance. Here’s what you can expect during a session:

-
Initial Assessment
-
Every treatment starts with an in-depth assessment of your physical condition. This helps identify the root cause of your pain or discomfort and allows the therapist to understand your movement patterns, posture, and any previous injuries.
-
Treatment Plan
Based on the assessment, I will develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs. I will use a combination of techniques to treat the affected areas, focusing on relieving pain, promoting healing, and increasing mobility. The pressure used will vary depending on the condition and the sensitivity of the muscle or tissue being treated. This could involve various techniques such as:-
Deep tissue massage and soft tissue release: Targeting deeper layers of muscle to release chronic tension.
-
Trigger point therapy: Applying pressure to specific points to alleviate muscle "knots" and tightness.
-
Myofascial release: Gently stretching the fascia (connective tissue) to improve flexibility and reduce pain. This could also involve the use of mobility dry cupping (with your consent).
-
Stretching and mobilisation: Helping improve range of motion and relieve stiffness in joints and muscles.

Rehabilitation & Advice
In addition to the physical therapy, I may provide you with post-treatment advice, including stretches or strength exercises to do at home or in the gym to speed up recovery and prevent future injuries. I may recommend lifestyle changes, such as improving posture at work (e.g. desk set up assessment) or incorporating specific warm-up routines into your daily activities. -
